| The R44 Raven II has a greater payload capacity, can fly at higher altitudes, and is faster then the R44 Raven I because of its fuel-injected engine. It also features a higher gross weight, a 28-volt electrical system, a second oil cooler, and rounded-tip main and tail rotor blades. Cabin air conditioning is an available factory option starting with 2006 deliveries (except Clipper II model, and not available for factory retrofit).
Leading Edge Aviation, Inc. in Bend, OR can retrofit factory air conditioning to all R44 Raven II helicopters after serial number 10606.
This model also encompasses the R44 Raven II Clipper II (factory-equipped with either fixed utility or emergency pop-out floats), the R44 Raven II IFR Trainer (factory-equipped with an enlarged 10-hole instrument panel), the R44 Raven II Police Helicopter, and the R44 Raven II Newscopter. |  |
