Back to Aircraft Listings | | More Information about the EUROCOPTER AS-350B ECUREUIL Aircraft | | The AS-350B Ecureuil is the successor to the Alouette series. It is a five to six-seat light general purpose helicopter featuring a Starflex-type rotor hub. It was originally marketed only outside North America, whereas its Lycoming-powered counterpart, the AS-350C AStar, was originally marketed only in North America.
The AS-350B Ecureuil can be upgraded in field to an AS-350BA Ecureuil with an increased maximum takeoff weight and equipped with main rotor blades of the AS-350B-2 Ecureuil (originally developed for the AS-355F Ecureuil II).
Soloy, LLC has an STC to retrofit a Rolls-Royce 250-C30M engine to this airframe, re-designating the model as AS-350 AllStar. This retrofit improves reliability and lowers operating and maintenance costs.
The AS-350B Ecureuil can also be converted to a model AS-350B-2 Ecureuil by Eurocopter or one of its subsidiaries. |  |
